101 Dalmatians KIDS searches for 101 Youth Actors

WILMINGTON, NC – On Saturday, January 9th, Thalian Association Community Theatre hopes more than 100 children (ages 6-18) will gather at the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center on 2nd and Orange Streets to audition for their upcoming youth production of Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS. Based on the novel and animated film, the production will be performed on the 2nd Street Stage February 26-March 6, as well as toured to the Community Boys & Girls Club and Brigade Boys & Girls Club. Auditions begin at 10:00 a.m. and are on a first come, first served basis. Each participant will be taught a song and dance combination, as well as possibilities of reading from the script.

The auditions are an excellent Photo Opportunity for print & broadcast media. Young actors will audition for the classic roles brought to life from Disney’s animated works. Disney’s 101 Dalmatians KIDS is being directed by Thalian Association Community Theatre past-president Thomas Behm, with music direction by Barbara White and choreography by Katie Auletti-Smith & Tina Leak.

Established in 1788, Thalian Association Community Theatre is a non-profit, membership organization dedicated to enhancing the Cape Fear region through live community theatre and arts education. Thalian Association Community Theatre produces five major productions annually on the Main Stage at historic Thalian Hall, a summer season at the Red Barn Studio and professionally manages the Hannah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center for the City of Wilmington. The youth theatre program offers training and performance opportunities for children age seven through high school seniors. In 2007, Thalian Association Community Theatre was designated North Carolina’s Official Community Theater by the state legislature.
