Information About Productions and Events Impacted by COVID-19

Thalian Association Community Theatre takes your health and well-being seriously! Please see below for important information regarding our performances and events impacted by COVID-19. If you have any questions, please contact Susan Habas at shabas@thalian.org or Samantha Chappell at slherrick@thalian.org.

As a precaution to protect the communities we serve because of the COVID-19 outbreak, Thalian Association Community Theatre has made the difficult decision to cancel the Youth Theatre production Disney’s Freaky Friday and the Community Theatre productions Elton John & Tim Rice’s Aida and The Producers.

We recognize that these decisions may cause significant inconvenience to our most loyal supporters and patrons, but please know your well-being and the well-being of our artists and employees will continue to be our top priority.  The CDC has clearly communicated that one of the most effective measures for controlling the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is social distancing. Based on that recommendation, and Governor Cooper’s enforced closures of non-essential businesses, we are unable to proceed with the final performances of the 2019-2020 season.

Anyone who purchased tickets, season ticket package holders, patrons, and sponsors who previously held tickets to Elton John & Tim Rice’s Aida and The Producers will have the unused tickets placed on will call at the Thalian Hall Box Office. The additional tickets may be used towards any Main Stage Thalian Hall performance in our 2020-2021 season. To secure your tickets for a specific performance please call the box office at 910-632-2285 after August 3, 2020.

Flex ticket packages for our next season are available for purchase today. To purchase a ticket package, please Susan Habas at shabas@thalian.org. Purchasing a ticket package will be a great way to show your support for local community theatre! We look forward to seeing you at our theatre next season.

We need your help!

Like most nonprofit arts organizations, Thalian Association Community Theatre is dependent upon ticket sales, sponsors, and contributions from generous donors to fund our operations.

We ask that you please continue to be a patron of the arts, and consider supporting Thalian Association Community Theatre at this difficult time in the following ways:

  1. Making a financial contribution in any amount to Thalian Association Community Theatre
  2. Purchasing a subscription to our 2020-2021 season
  3. Exchanging your current tickets to Aida and The Producers to a production in the 2020-2021 season

This is a difficult time for our organization and artists, and we thank you for anything you can do to support us through this pandemic!

Be well!
