WILMINGTON, NC- Thalian Association Community Theatre will hold youth auditions for Schoolhouse Rock Live Jr, January 28 at 10 am. Auditions will be held at the Community Arts Center, 120 S. 2nd Street in downtown Wilmington. The production, directed by Stacie Smith and Logan Mack, runs March 10 through March 19 at the Hanah Block Historic USO/Community Arts Center.
Audition Participants need to prepare 16 bars of a musical theatre style or pop song to sing. Those wishing to audition may call 910-251-1788 to set up an audition time. If needed, callbacks will be that afternoon at 2 pm.
Synopsis: The Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning educational cartoon series and pop culture phenomenon is now the basis for one of the most fun musicals ever to hit the stage, Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR.
This energetic musical which follows Tom, a young schoolteacher, who is nervous about his first day of teaching. He tries to relax by watching TV, when various characters representing facets of his personality emerge from the set and show him how to win his students over with imagination and music. Memorable songs as “Just a Bill,” “Lolly, Lolly, Lolly” and “Conjunction Junction” bring his lesson plans vividly to life. Perfect for young performers of all ages and experience levels, Schoolhouse Rock Live! JR. is a surefire hit amongst actors and audiences alike.
