Audra Schaffer was born and raised in central Massachusetts and trained in classical and modern dance since early childhood at Charlotte Klein Dance Centres and The Putnam Dance Centre of Connecticut, the latter being founded by her mother.  While in school, she participated in several choirs, played saxophone in concert and jazz band, and performed in the high school musical every year.  Audra later pursued a career in theatre in New York City and was accepted to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.  Since graduating, she has accrued a list of performance credits around Boston, New York, and Wilmington over the last decade. Some favorites include A Chorus Line (Emerson Umbrella/Bebe & TACT/Val), Carousel, Anything Goes (Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston), Guys and Dolls, The Wedding Singer (TACT) and Elf the Musical (TACT/Emily Hobbs).  She has a lot of favorites! Audra has also performed as a dancer in The Nutcracker with the Boston Dance Company, and the Wilmington Dance Festival last year where she had the privilege to showcase her own choreography.  Thanks to her mother’s studio business, she has been able to gain experience as a dance teacher since the age of fifteen.  Twenty years of teaching and performing later, she’s extremely excited to share her knowledge and passion with the students at TACT Academy this year!
